Two persons drowned as a boat, with at least 22 persons on board, capsized in Mangla dam here on Wednesday, police said. According to details the ferry carrying about 22 persons travelling from Mirpur for pilgrimage / Urs at the mausoleum of religious saint, sank in the reservoir near Bohar Colony because of overloading. The 20 of the pilgrims were immediately rescued by the rescuers of police 1122. Those dead were identified as Muhammad Shoukat and Haroon Asghar. The ill-fated Haroon, resident of Khanpur village, had got married about a couple of months ago. Thothal Police station has arrested the boatman. Further investigations are in progress.
