Abbottabad defeated Haripur in the final hockey tournament of Under-23 Hazara Region Inter-District Men Games, which concluded at Hockey Complex Abbottabad on Wednesday. Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad Ammara Amir Khattak was the chief guest on this occasion. Director Sports Operation Tariq Mehmood, Organising Secretary Syed Saqlain Shah, Ahmad Zaman, DSO Haripur, Director Sports BISE Shakeel Awan, international hockey player Shafqat Ullah, officials, players and large number of spectators were also present. Abbottabad beat Haripur 3-1.
Earlier, Abbottabad gave a superb performance by winning 11 disciplines out of total 15 part of the Abbottabad Region Inter-District Men Games. Abbottabad claimed six gold and two silver medal in Judo by securing 74 points, followed by Haripur with two gold and three silver secured 41 points and Mansehra took four silver medal with 28 points took third position. At the end, the chief guest gave away trophies and cash prizes of Rs 15,000 for the winners and Rs 10,000 for the runners-up.
