Indian soyabean futures inched higher on Wednesday on hopes of millers buying more, as they try to satisfy domestic demand for oil and meal. The April soyabean contract on the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange gained 0.18 percent to end at 3,971 rupees ($59.50) per 100 kg.
The April rapeseed contract rose 1.89 percent to 4,034 rupees per 100 kg due to demand from oil mills. April soyaoil futures were 0.63 percent lower at 634 rupees per 10 kg at 1505 GMT. Higher imports weighed on sentiment.
SUGAR The most active May sugar contract was 0.29 percent higher at 3,486 rupees per 100 kg as hopes of a pick up in the sweetener's demand in summer helped prices.
CORN, WHEAT May corn futures shed 0.41 percent to close at 1,220 rupees per 100 kg on imports of the grain and arrivals of the new harvest in the market. The April wheat contract ended up 0.06 percent at 1,565 rupees per 100 kg.
