The Karachi Port handled 148,872 tonnes of cargo comprising 122,390 tonnes of import cargo and 26,482 tonnes of export cargo including 6,377 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 122,390 tonnes comprised of 58,398 tonnes of containerised cargo; 26,961 tonnes of general cargo; 11,893 tonnes of SB meal and 25,138 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 26,482 tonnes comprised of 25,357 tonnes of containerised cargo and 1,125 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 6,377 containers comprising of 3,881 containers import and 2,496 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,711 of 20's and 996 of 40's loaded while 10 of 20's and 84 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 844 of 20's and 151 of 40's loaded containers while 564 of 20's and 393 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were four ships namely Batam Trader, Ever Unique, Falcon Victory and Omera Queen carrying containers and oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were six vessels viz. Hyundai Bangkok, A Idefix, Northern Power, Urania, Ebony Ray and Busan Star carrying containers, oil tankers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths. There were three ships namely A Idefix, Northern Power and Corona carrying containers and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea on Friday while two ships namely Hyundai Bangkok and Cosco Osaka carrying containers respectively are expected to sail on Saturday.
There were two vessels viz. Najran and Bulk Columbia carrying containers and SB meal respectively due to arrive on Friday while nine vessels viz. Cosco Sao Paulo, APL Cyprine, KMTC Dubai, MT Quetta, Stolt Courage, Positive Star, HTC Bravo, Al Messilah and Albatross carrying containers, oil tankers, vehicle, steel, cattle and talcum powder respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 123,256 tonnes comprising 70,177 tonnes of import cargo and 53,079 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 2,824 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 70,177 tonnes includes 10,481 tonnes of diesel oil; 13,523 tonnes of steel coil; 31,000 tonnes of LNG; 1,455 tonnes of LPG; 10,055 tonnes of chemical; 395 tonnes of project cargo and 3,268 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 53,079 tonnes includes 2,691 tonnes of cement and 50,388 tonnes of containerised cargo. There were two ships namely CV Mehuin and CV Maersk Kimi carrying containers sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while three more ships namely MT Onaiza, MV Shandong Hai and MV Atlantic Glory carrying LPG, general cargo and chemical are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV Mehuin, CV Maersk Kimi, MV Diamond Sun, MV Shandong Hai, MV New Legend Ruby, MT Atlantic Glory, MT Golden Wish, MT Onaiza and MT N Mars currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, steel coil, project cargo, chemical, LNG, diesel oil and sunflower seeds respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as five ships namely CV Rio Maddeira, MV Adventure-K, MT New Challenge, MT White Purl and MT Liberty N carrying containers, cement, diesel oil and LPG respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Friday. There were four vessels viz. CV Hansa America, CV Rio Maddeira, MV Adventure-K and MT Okyroe carrying containers, cement and furnace oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Friday. There were four ships namely CV Safmarine Nyassa, CV MSC Roberta, CV MSC Antalya and CV Northern Magnitude carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Friday.
