The rupee managed to hold present levels against the dollar in the process of trade, dealers said. The rupee stayed put versus the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 105.40 and Rs 105.60, they said. The rupee recovered 15 paisas in relation to the euro for buying and selling at Rs 117.25 and Rs 118.25, they added.
OPEN MARKET RATES: Commenting on the present trend in the money market, some experts said that smooth supply of dollar helped the rupee to sustain it's levels versus the greenback and it looks that the national currency may hold firmness in times to come. Besides, they said that almost all international markets were closed in observance of Good Friday.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee gained 10-paisa on buying side at Rs 105.30 while it remained unchanged on selling side at Rs 105.90 in relation to the greenback on the local currency markets of Lahore on Saturday.
According to currency dealers, the dollar resumed trading at its earlier day closing of Rs 105.40 and Rs 105.90 as its buying and selling rates, respectively. The dollar could not sustain and lost its worth to Rs 105.30 on buying counters while its selling rate stayed unchanged at Rs 105.90. It did not observe any change throughout the trading session, the dealers said.
However, the local currency went up on buying and selling sides against the pound sterling that was purchased and sold at Rs 147.80 and Rs 149.10 as compared to previous closing of Rs 148.20 and Rs 149.20, the dealers added.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar further gained strength against the Pak rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Saturday.
The dollar opened at Rs 106 (buying) and Rs 106.20 (selling) against same last rate. It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 106 (buying) and Rs 106.20 (selling).
Pound Sterling opened at Rs 158 (buying) and Rs 158.50 (selling) against same overnight value. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 158 (buying) and Rs 158.50 (selling).
