PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter has congratulated Christian community of the country including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on the occasion of Easter and urged the people for participation in the religious festivals of minorities to play their due role in the highlighting of Pakistanism.
In a joint statement issued here Sunday, PPP provincial president, Senator Khanzada Khan, general secretary, Hamayun Khan and provincial president, Minorities' Wing Naseeb Chand said that through participation in the Holi festival, the chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has won the hearts of minorities.
They said that the Constitution of Pakistan is protector and guarantor of the fundamental rights of the citizens of Pakistan and the leadership of PPP had fought long struggle for the provision of equal protection and rights to minorities in the country.
The PPP leaders said that under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam, Mohammad Ali Jinnah minorities had played fully participated in the struggle of the independence of the country and rendered matchless sacrifices and played their exemplary role, which will be never forgotten.
They said that PPP will not hesitate from rendering any kind of sacrifices for the rights of minorities and urged all political and religio-political parties to play their role in celebrating religious festivals of all minorities on a joint platform and conversion of all hatred and rivalries to brotherhood and friendship to turn the country into the cradle of peace.
