Charsadda police on Monday claimed that they have arrested 12 suspects including a wanted terrorist who had allegedly facilitated a suicide attack on Qaumi Wattan Party (QWP) Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao. According to senior police officer, police carried out intelligence based surgical raid in Utmanzai area after getting information about the presence of Samiullah. Police arrested him without any untoward incident.
The police official further said Samiullah was the facilitator of suicide bombing then the Interior Minister Aftab Sherpao in 2007 that left 67 people dead. He had been in hiding for several years in after which the government placed a head money of Rs 1 million for his arrest. The arrested terrorist was taken to an unknown place for interrogation.
