School-Partners of the Punjab Education Foundation have been urged to ensure the success of this year's enrolment campaign. The campaign is to be launched by the School Education Department on April 1s in the province claiming to target a hundred-percent enrolment well in time.
The announcement came from Managing Director Tariq Mahmood who chaired a department meeting at his office on Tuesday to review a string of programme expansion and attainment of enrolment targets in detail. Operations Deputy Managing Director Tariq Rafiq and Programme Directors too attended the meeting. Programme heads presented their strategies and future plans to meet the enrolment targets.
Managing Director Mahmood claimed, "The foundation is playing an important role in achieving the targets of Parho Punjab, Barho Punjab... No child should be deprived of basic right of education because of lack of resources and the school-partners should work proactively to motivate parents to send their children to schools. The foundation is working hard to materialise a vision by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif by opening the doors of education to the have-nots. We are working side by side with the Punjab government so that every child should be in school by 2018." In another development, the foundation was reported to have kick-started a book distribution drive on Tuesday. School-partners of DG Khan and Kot Chutta tehsils received the textbooks at a distribution point set up at the Yusuf Colony in DG Khan.
