The Karachi Port handled 185,762 tonnes of cargo comprising 144,208 tonnes of import cargo and 41,554 tonnes of export cargo including 6,008 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 144,208 tonnes comprised of 59,713 tonnes of containerised cargo; 18,030 tonnes of bulk cargo; 11,552 tonnes of total bulk cargo: 6,500 tonnes of coal; 2,553 tonnes of SB meal; 2,499 tonnes of canola and 54,913 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 41,554 tonnes comprised of 14,902 tonnes of containerised cargo; 25,402 tonnes of bulk cargo; 7,552 tonnes of loose bulk cement; 17,850 tonnes of iron powder and 1,250 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 6,008 containers comprising of 4,277 containers import and 1,731 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 1,363 of 20's and 1,435 of 40's loaded while 4 of 20's and 20 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 399 of 20's and 263 of 40's loaded containers while 160 of 20's and 323 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were six ships namely Batam Trader, Osaka Tower, Bay Pearl, DL Aster, Yangtze Ambition and HTC Bravo carrying containers, oil tankers, SB meal and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were seven vessels viz. Cosco Sao Paulo, Hyundai General, MOL Dedication, DL Violet, Amoy Dream, Stellar Maestro and Chang Hang Jin Hai carrying containers, oil tanker, coal and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were five ships namely YM Express, Leopard, DL Violet, Eleni-D and Le He carrying containers, oil tanker, D meal and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea on Friday while two ships namely Hyundai General and Gema carrying containers and oil tanker respectively are expected to sail on Saturday.
There were three vessels viz. Al Abdali, APL Coral and Oriental Green carrying containers and mogas respectively due to arrive on Friday while six vessels viz. X-Press Euphrates, Shalamar, Winter, N Mars, Alster Bay and Orient Jasmine carrying containers, chemical, oil tanker, mogas and coal respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 138,152 tonnes comprising 85,281 tonnes of import cargo and 52,871 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 4,395 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 85,281 tonnes includes 14,336 tonnes of diesel oil; 4,846 tonnes of palm oil; 29,000 tonnes of LNG; 510 tonnes of LPG; 1,933 tonnes of chemical and 34,656 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 52,871 tonnes includes 4,022 tonnes of cement and 48,849 tonnes of containerised cargo. There were three ships namely CV Maersk Kithira, CV MSC Lisbon and MT Corona carrying containers and oil tanker sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while three more ships namely CV CMA CGM Corneille, MT Al-Gharrafa and MV Adventure-K carrying containers, LPG and cement are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of ten vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Corneille, CV CMA CGM Uruguay, CV Maersk Kithira, CV MSC Lisbon, MV Adventure-K, MT Corona, MT White Purl, MV JS Green Speed, MT New Challenge and MT Al-Gharrafa currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, diesel oil, palm oil, LPG and LNG respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as six ships namely CV Tommi Ritscher, CV Pucon, CV MSC Valencia, MV Sea Wave, MT Tomson Gas, MT Able Sailor and MT AU Leo carrying containers, cement, LPG and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Friday. There were five vessels viz. CV Tommi Ritscher, CV Pucon, CV Maersk Innoshima, MT Tomson Gas and MT AU Leo carrying containers, LPG and palm oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Friday.
There were five ships namely CV CMA CGM Corneille, CV Nicoline Maersk, CV E.R. Yokohama, MV Lake St Clair and MT Okyroe carrying containers, wheat and furnace oil respectively due to arrive on Saturday. There is one ship namely MT Omera Queen carrying furnace oil due to arrive on Sunday.
