PPP Overseas President and former interior minister has asked the democracy loving people of Pakistan to follow the models of democracy as only the democracy can empower the people and make the country peaceful, stronger and prosperous.
The best pattern of democracy in the history of Pakistan is certainly Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto who introduced the nation with democracy, said Senator A. Rehman Malik. He said today Pakistan is put it to numerous tribulations of which terrorism is the most dangerous threat. Senator Rehman Malik emphasised that in such an upsetting situation where we as nation needs unanimity among ourselves, also need to follow the superb principles set by Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.
Paying tribute to Shaheed ZA Bhutto on his martyrdom anniversary, Senator Rehman Malik said that charismatic leader like Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto born once in century, architects the history and is remembered forever as a role model for his struggle, services and sacrifices for the wellbeing of the country and its people. Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was the true leader of poor, oppressed and browbeaten section of our society who gave them strength, dignity and self-respect, he said.
"Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was definitely the herald of new standards, struggle and sacrifices in the politics of Pakistan and Third World. Shaheed ZA Bhutto transformed the heights of ours struggle and introduced us with genuine democracy and gave us courage of speaking for own rights", he added. "Z A Bhutto Shaheed gave the nation awareness and valued the poor", he said.
"For decades, Pakistan was short of constitution and through wisdom and vision Shaheed ZA Bhutto made it possible to bring all the political parties to agree to a harmony on the new Constitution as a result he gave the nation a solid Constitution", said Senator A. Rehman Malik". Decades passed but the Bhutto given constitution is still a sacred and national documents for democrats of every party including the religious parties of the country, Rehman Malik expressed.
When the neighbouring enemy country India became the atomic power, Shaheed ZA Bhutto was agitated and was ready to eat the grass or even sleep empty stomach but to get atomic empowerment thus to shun away the escalating threat from India, ZA Bhutto even sacrificed his life but gave Pakistan a strength of which as empowered nation we all are proud for now and forever, he said.
India broke Pakistan in 1971 and is still hatching conspiracies against Pakistan; and most recent example is the arrest of its top spy thus so as to deal with the threats from our enemies both in shape of Taliban whom he always calls as 'Zaliman' (The Cruel) and India, we need to apply the eyesight, vision and wisdom of Z A Bhutto Shaheed in genuine letter and spirit, said Senator Rehman Malik.

He said that today we have Bhutto among ourselves in shape of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in whose veins the brave blood of Shaheed ZA Bhutto and Mohtarama Benazir Bhutto Shaheed is running, who is visionary, farsighted and more the bravest among all political leaders of today. Senator A. Rehman Malik hoped that young leader of towering personality and wisdom like Bilawal Bhutto Zardari can take the country out of the quagmire of today's multiple crises.
