Government departments have marked "Anti-dengue Day" in an attempt to keep the environment neat and clean. Various seminars, awareness walks were held. Environment Protection department also arranged walk that began from the Liberty Market roundabout and ended at Hafeez Centre. Environment Protection Minister Zakiya Shahnawaz spearheaded the walk. In her address, she said government was determined to make Punjab a dengue-free province and soon we will succeed in it.
"The dengue elimination is the prime concern of the chief minister," she added. The walk was also attended by the Parliamentary Secretary for Health Khwaja Imran Nazir, Environment Protection Agency Director General Javed Iqbal, college students of earth and environmental sciences and civil society members. In another development, students and staff of the University of Health Sciences also staged a walk on Wednesday.
