District administration Wednesday arrested 41 persons including butchers and proprietors of restaurants for violation of meat-holiday. On the directives of Deputy Commissioner (DC), Peshawar, Riaz Khan Mehsud, the Additional Assistant Commissioner (AAC), Sohail Aziz conducted raids in Hashtnagri and G.T.
Road and arrested 12 persons including butchers and restaurants for selling meat in violation of meat-holiday. Similarly, AAC Bashir Ahmad conducted raids in Shuba Bazaar and arrested owners of 14 restaurants while AAC Javed Anwar Kamal arrested 6 butchers from Machni Gate. Similarly, AAC Anwar-ul-Haq arrested the owners of 11 restaurants on violation of meat-holiday.
Meanwhile, Additional Assistant Commissioners (AACs), Fazilat Jehan and Imran Khan inspected the canteens of public and private sector hospitals and arrested seven persons. The hospitals whose canteens inspected were included Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC), North-West Hospital and Rehman Medical Institute (RMI) and arrested seven persons for poor cleanliness and violation of official price lists of items. Similarly, 12 profiteers were arrested from different markets of Hayatabad and University Town while AAC Syed Shah Zeb conducted raids on medicines stores on Nasirbagh and sealed seven shops after founding expired medicines from them while 8 and 6 profiteers were arrested from Saddar and Nasirbagh.
