The Karachi Port handled 140,643 tonnes of cargo comprising 113,735 tonnes of import cargo and 26,908 tonnes of export cargo including 8,300 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 113,735 tonnes comprised of 59,342 tonnes of containerised cargo; 16,253 tonnes of bulk cargo; 18,510 tonnes of total bulk cargo: 14,350 tonnes of coal; 4,160 tonnes of SB meal and 19,630 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 26,908 tonnes comprised of 20,391 tonnes of containerised cargo; 456 tonnes of bulk cargo and 6,061 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 8,300 containers comprising of 3,592 containers import and 4,708 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday. The breakup of imported containers shows 1,753 of 20's and 889 of 40's loaded while 5 of 20's and 28 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 609 of 20's and 340 of 40's loaded containers while 607 of 20's and 1,406 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were six ships namely Batam Trader, MSC Roberta, Ever Divine, MT Lahore, Alster Bay and Seacon-B carrying containers, oil tanker and coal respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were seven vessels viz. Hyundai Highness, Uni Prudent, Bahamas, Chemroad Fuji, Stalingrad, Chang Hang Zuan and RU YI Song carrying containers, oil tankers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were five ships namely HS Marco Polo, Bahamas, Wan Hai-503, Stalingrad and Asia Zircon carrying containers, oil tanker and steel respectively sailed out to sea on Friday. There were four vessels viz. Al-Farahidi, APL Germany, Kong Que Song and Inuyama carrying containers and steel respectively due to arrive on Friday while three vessels viz. Hyundai Paramount, Stade and Chang Hang Huai Hai carrying containers and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 153,113 tonnes comprising 118,630 tonnes of import cargo and 34,753 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 4,151 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 118,630 tonnes includes 29,167 tonnes of furnace oil; 26,000 tonnes of LNG; 1,076 tonnes of project cargo; 10,596 tonnes of chemical; 3,280 tonnes of MEG and 48,241 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 34,753 tonnes includes 4,125 tonnes of cement and 30,628 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 4,151 containers comprising of 2,539 containers import and 1,612 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There were three ships namely CV MSC Maeva, CV CMA CGM Maussant and MT Al-Saflia carrying containers and diesel oil sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while two more ships namely MV Central Park and MT Kong Que Song carrying furnace oil and project cargo respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of nine vessels viz. CV CMA CGM Carmen, CV CMA CGM Maussant, MV Diamond Sea, MT Kong Que Song, MV Sea Wave, Atlantic Glory, MT Al-Saflia, MV Central Park and MT Bahra currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, cement, project cargo, chemical, LNG and diesel oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as two ships namely MV An African and MV GSW Frontier carrying cement and chemical respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Friday. There were four vessels viz. CV CSAV Toconama, CV Uni Florida, MV GSW Frontier and MT Liberty-N carrying containers, chemical and LPG expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and SSGC LPG Terminal respectively on Friday. There were nine ships namely CV CV Safmarine Ngami, CV MSC Texas, CV MSC Toronto, MT Al-Ghashaniya, MV Da Yu Xia, MV Trans Nanjing, MV Alpha Flamme, MT Al-Dasma and MT Okyroe carrying containers, LPG, project cargo, seeds, canola, diesel oil and furnace oil respectively due to arrive on Friday.
