Chief Executive, Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (Pesco) Awnar Ul Haq Yousafzai has expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of Swabi and Mardan divisions. He has issued warning to the officials to improve recovery and decrease line losses. He has given a deadline for improvement in their performance till the end of the current month otherwise action will be taken against them. He has also directed the implementation of photo meter reading.
Drive against illegal use of electricity and direct hooks were discussed and important decisions were taken in this regard. He ordered no one should be spared who is involved in power theft, as due to power pilferage Pesco's distribution system is over loaded on one side and increase in line losses on the other hand. Similarly, revenue collection from defaulters was also discussed and important directions were given to expedite the recovery. It was decided to immediately disconnect power supply to defaulters and not restore power supply until the dues are paid.
He said that the officers have to work hard and they will be rewarded on the basis of their performance. The officers with efficient performance will be given incentives and inefficient officers and staff others will be punished accordingly. The CEO Pesco said that every effort should be taken to provide better facilities to consumers at their door steps and pledged to turn Pesco into a consumer-friendly company. He also assured his full cooperation to the employees of the company and vowed to strive his best for the redressal their professional problems.
