Senior leader of PPP and former chief minister Punjab, Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo has said there is no need of further evidence on the offshore business of the family of PM Nawaz Sharif. Talking to the media at a farewell party, Wattoo said the issue of offshore companies is not an ordinary matter and the whole nation has stood up against the corruption of the ruling party.
He added the PPP was in contact with other political parties on the issue and hinted at a joint strategy to protest in and outside parliament within the constitutional limits. The farewell party in his honour was attended by Yousaf Raza Gillani former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Tanveer Ashraf Kaira, Raja Amir Khan, Chaudhary Manzoor, Nadeem Asghar Kaira, Rana Farooq Ahmed Khan, Jahan Ara M Wattoo and Mian Manzoor Manika. He said, he has advised the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to set up his team immediately for winning the 2018 general elections.
"I have advised Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in party meetings to restore the real power of the party by strongly opposing the PML-N government's anti-people policies. He has vowed that the blood of the martyrs of the PPP would not go waste and the party would always stand against the anti-people policies of the government. He added Punjab government has been failed to eliminate Chotoo Gang for seven years, and the gang has exposed and stamped on the false claims of its good governance. Wattoo has said that government's all schemes have failed and now its corruption is not hidden and exposed in front of the nation.
The rulers need to respond the corruption charges and tell the nation truth about their offshore businesses, he demanded. He urged the prime minister to declare his personal and family assets within the country and overseas, by saying that the assets of his children abroad is a big question mark, as the Panama Leaks have exposed Sharif family's offshore business and investments.
He questioned how Nawaz Sharif's children in 1990 when they were only 13 or 14 years old got too much money, and how they transferred it abroad? He said no interpretation would be helpful to prove them innocent after Panama Leaks. He further said government has failed to transfer fruits of democracy to masses, and now nation is not ready to give further sacrifices, and this time rulers need to give sacrifice. He rejected the Judicial Commission announced by PM Nawaz Sharif to investigate the allegations against him and his family in the Panama Leaks by terming it as a farce and eyewash.
He has welcomed and congratulated all the members of a five-member Organising Committee for undertaking re-organisation of the Punjab chapter and assured his full support. He also thanked all the office bearers, executive members and workers, who worked with him as a team.
