The Public Accounts Committee's sub committee Monday directed Ministry of Housing and Works to provide details of recovery from defaulters in various cases. The committee also expressed its displeasure over non-responsive attitude of the ministry officials to the queries of member committee. The committee directed the ministry to take punitive action against those officials who released the development fund of 192 schemes during 2008-09 in violation of rules and regulation.
Sardar Ashiq Hussain Gopang chaired the meeting which reviewed the audit accounts of Ministry of Housing and Works. The committee directed the ministry to hold departmental accounts committee meeting regularly to reconcile the audit accounts of the ministry.
