Transparency International Pakistan expresses its serious concern on the existence of off shore companies as exposed by Panama Leaks beneficially held by citizens of Pakistan including Public Office Holders. The admission by the son of the Prime Minister about owning of the off shore companies and properties without giving any plausible source of funds cast doubts.
Maintaining bank accounts by off shore companies beneficially owned by holders of Public office without known disclosure is itself a suspicious act. This is reflected by the resignation tendered by the executives of various countries after disclosure of their names in the Panama Papers.TI-Pakistan demands that a fair and impartial investigation should be conducted by the Honourable Chief Justice of Pakistan or a sitting judge nominated by the Chief Justice, who may include forensic audit experts.-PR
