Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has submitted a calling attention notice in the National Assembly Secretariat against putting burden of Rs 101 billion on gas consumers for laying down the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) pipeline. The calling attention notice submitted by PPP MNAs' Syed Naveed Qamar, Shazia Atta Mari, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, Shahida Rehmani and Dr Shazia Sobia on Tuesday.
According to calling attention notice, "We the undersigned invite the attention of Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources towards the government move of putting mammoth burden of Rs 101 billion on gas consumers for lying down the LNG pipeline. This action of the government is totally unjustified as gas consumers are already paying a hefty sum in the name of Gas Infrastructure Development Cess (GIDC) for the said purpose.
This is a very serious matter and needs immediate attention of the House."
