"Birds of Pakistan", a book that covers the threat to some of the most beautiful creatures of flight in Pakistan, has been launched. It is a compilation by Arif Amin and Ghulam Rasool, supplemented by researches from Umbreen Arif. The book stands unique as it portrays a soft image of Pakistan, with hints at an important issue that plagues our world. Pakistan has almost 780 species of birds and this book has covered 96 species and a total of 122 photographs of birds.
The book was formally launched by Syed Abu Ahmed Akif-secretary climate change while Fazal Abbas Maken- secretary science and technology, Shoaib Siddiqi-special secretary of interior, Nasir Masroor -member customs along with a number of diplomats including Deputy head of Mission, Netherlands, Heads of IUCN,UNICEF, UNESCO , EU, and people from media community also attended the event.
Babar Sultan, CEO Engro Foods, speaking at the event said, "Almost all of these man-made crises are in our control - we hope that by sharing the beauty of some of these birds, we can spread awareness about their conservation and the need to protect their natural habitats. On behalf of Engro Foods, I am extremely thankful to Arif Amin and. Ghulam Rasool who has captured these stunning images with utmost professional competence.
I am equally appreciative of the research input given by Umbreen Arif in the book. Lastly, the relentless efforts of Rehan Saeed Khan from Engro Foods are highly appreciated and valued in making this dream come true. Engro Foods will continue to support and honour such extraordinary causes for the country." This is applied in all our endeavours and we hope that through a small first step to present the beauty of birds in Pakistan, we can change the way we treat them and their habitats.-PR
