Qamar Zaman Kaira, Pakistan People's Party (PPP) secretary information, Tuesday hailed the Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Raheel Sharif's statement seeking end to corruption for enduring peace and prosperity. "I appreciate the army chief's remarks in my personal capacity," Kaira said while responding to General Sharif's statement. "There is a need to adopt a national approach against corruption," he added.
Earlier, the army chief said that ongoing war against terrorism and extremism cannot bring enduring peace unless the menace of corruption is uprooted. General Sharif made these remarks while visiting Signal Regimental Centre in Kohat yesterday. Pakistan Armed Forces will fully support every meaningful effort in that direction, which would ensure a better future for our next generations, CoAS said.
