Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has taken strong notice of the overpayment by different public sector institutes. The committee has decided to take stern action against the concerned officials. The meeting held with MPA Shaukat Ali Yousafzai in the chair. MPAs Mufti Said Janan, Idrees Khattak and Qurban Ali, authorities of the concerned also attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed audit objections relating to overpayments to contractors during development works by Public Health Department, Mardan and not recovery of water surcharge. The presiding officer expressed strong dismay over no recovery of water surcharge. The committee expressed deep sorrow that somewhere the surcharge is not recovered and somewhere overpayments are being made to contractors and institutions are becoming joke. The presiding officer warned that in future those inflicting losses to public exchequer will face stern action.
