Young Pakistanis are very creative and talented, and Japan has opened the doors of its universities to Pakistani students so that they could get higher education there. This was stated by Mitsuoki Tosa, Director, Japan Information and Culture Centre and Consul for cultural and Public Affairs, Consulate General of Japan in Karachi, while speaking in seminar on "Study in Japan" organised by Monba Kagakusho Alumni Association of Pakistan (MAAP) Sindh chapter at University of Sindh.
The diplomat said that at present about 0.2 million students from different countries are getting education in various universities of Japan, but unfortunately the number of Pakistani students is very low. He advised them to avail the opportunities of scholarship offered.
He said that the Japane government and universities offer a number of scholarships for getting higher education every year. The Pakistani students have also proved them with talent, creativity and hard work. He said the Japan government offices in Pakistan are available to help Pakistani youth for seeking higher education in Japan. Speaking on the occasion, Professor Dr Abdul Rasool Abbasi, Dean, Faculty of Natural Sciences thanked the diplomat and Japan Government for taking interest for capacity building efforts of the youth of Pakistan.
In seminar, other speakers were Professor Dr Wazir Ali Baloch, Chairperson Department of Freshwater Biology & Fisheries, Professor Dr Khan Muhammad Brohi and Professor Dr Aneela Naz Soomro, who also shared their experiences of university life in Japan and asked they must make attempt to get scholarship in Japanese universities. The seminar was attended by a large number of teachers and students of the university.
