Inquiry Committee has absolved Khyber Pakhtunkhwa''s finance minister of the charges of corruption levelled against him in an ad of Bank of Khyber. Aaj News reported on Saturday that the committee''s report gave a clean chit to the KP finance minister Muzaffar Syed. The Committee said that Managing Director of the BoK failed to substantiate the allegations that he had levelled against the minister for his alleged involvement in financial irregularities.
The report was forwarded to the KP Chief Minister who is likely to make a decision regarding the matter shortly. Meanwhile, Muzaffar Syed has sent a defamation notice of Rs 100 million to the MD of the Bank of Khyber. Chief Minister KP Pervaiz Khattak had formed a committee to hold an inquiry after Bank of Khyber advertisement carried b y newspapers accused the minister of misusing his authority to benefit his party, Jamaat-i-Islami.
