Speakers at a literary session called upon the poets to work for the promotion of harmony and tolerance among the community members in Bajaur agency. The 'annual spring literary session' was organised by Bajaur Pashto Adabi Jirga in collaboration with local administration that was attended by scores of poets and writers from Peshawar, Swat, Buner, Dir and others parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Tribal elders, political workers, officials and local writers were also present.
The session was presided over by Aimal Khattak, a renowned social activist and elder son of famous Pashto poet Ajmal Khattak, while writer Professor Dr Abaseen Yousafzai was the chief guest.
Noted poets Anwar Nigar, Aziz Manerwal, Anwar Manerwal, Professor Abid, Shamas Buneri, Jafar Khan Jafar, Zafar Khan Zafar, Professor Nawaz Yousafzai and Haib Abid presented their poems on the occasion.
Professor Yousafzai urged the poets and writers to step up their efforts to create awareness among people about the importance of education, peace and harmony.
