While defending Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family's financial worries, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Pervaiz Rashid said on Sunday Sharif family is a family of hard workers who have been exiled for 3 generations.
Referring to forensic audit of Panama Leak papers in respect of Nawaz Sharif's family members by a high powered judicial commission, the minister said, "No one should scare us from forensic audit, leaders have been through this four times, others should worry about "DNA" test.
He criticised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and said that why did not Imran Khan speak when he was standing behind former President Pervez Musharraf at the time of referendum?
Mentioning Pakistan People's Party (PPP) leader Qamar Zaman Kaira, he said that Sharif family has already faced an audit during Benazir Bhutto and Musharraf's reign.
Mud is being spilt over the party so leaders have to keep repeating the past to remind others, he added. Who will be held accountable for arresting 16 years old Shahbaz and his 72 years old grandfather Mian Sharif, he questioned.
He asked Chairman PTI how much tax did he pay when Sharif family's factory was taken over by the government?
Mian Sharif started steel business in 1936 and thousands of workers used to work at his mill, he added. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's children are not living abroad by choice but by force as they were refused to apply or issue Pakistani passport. Elder son is living in Jeddah and younger one in London, he added. Musharraf prevented PM's children to reside in Pakistan, he added.
