The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has organised second ICT Awards (Information Communication Technology Awards) at Aiwan-i-Quaid, F-9 Park Islamabad on Friday. Governor Punjab Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana was the chief guest on the occasion.
The RCCI President Mian Humayun Parvez, Senior Vice President Saqib Rafiq, Vice President Muhammad Aqil Obaid, Group leader Sohail Altaf, S.M. Naseem, former presidents, Chairman ICT Committee Raja Omar, Tajik Ambassador Jononov Sher Ali, a large number of dignities, Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) officials, CEOs of leading IT and telecom companies, government officials and members of the RCCI executive committee were also present on the occasion.
There were 12 award categories. Ovex Technologies PVT Ltd grabbed the RCCI ICT Company of the Year award while C.M Pak Ltd (Zong) received the Excellence in Telecommunication award. Other winners were:
Medical Transcription Billing, Corporation (MTBC) gets Excellence in E-Health, Technology Innovation Award goes to Zin Technologies PVT ltd, ICT Security Innovation Award goes to Trillium Information security system, ICT Implementation Award goes to RaR Multibiz. Auto soft dynamics Pvt. Ltd received Excellence in E-Banking, Domestic Revenue Achievement Award goes to System Limited, Excellence in Software Export (System Limited, Excellence in Citizen Services (NADRA), Excellence in E-Governance Awards (MOIT) and ISP of the Year Award went to Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL).
Addressing the ceremony, the Governor lauded the efforts of RCCI for organising the event and promoting the IT sector. He said that we understand the challenges in this sector; however, we can meet this challenge easily as we have a best potential and talent in our youth. Pakistan is little new to this industry yet achieved a lot in short span of time. In last five years, this sector has shown a growth of above 40 percent. "We are not for behind any other country or location", he added.
He urged private sector especially who are linked with IT sector to fulfil the corporate social responsibility (CSR). He appreciated the RCCI suggestion for establishing an IT Park in Rawalpindi. He assured his full support for the land acquisition for this project.
He said that the government has done a great job in restoring peace and stability in the country. Terrorism has been reduced remarkably and China Pakistan economic corridor will lift this country and will prove as a game changer. He said political differences are the essence of democracy. However, political parties must not go for political mileage at the cost of national interest..-PR
