Development projects in southern districts of KP: Fazl cashes in on battling PM's predicament
The chief of Jaimat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) and Chairman National Assembly Committee for Kashmir Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Tuesday said that an across-the-board accountability was imperative to take the country towards progress and eliminate the curse of corruption. Addressing a public gathering in Bannu district where Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced scores of development projects, the Maulana without naming PTI chief Imran Khan said that those who are criticising the Sharif family today in the wake of the Panama leaks should not forget that they too have offshore companies in their names.
"If an across-the-board accountability is carried out those who consider themselves being the champions of anti-corruption campaigns would find no place to hide," Fazl remarked. He said those who were making "unjustified" demand of PM's resignation were nowadays busy in fighting with rats and it seemed that they have also lost this fight. "If somebody is scared of a rat how then he could challenge a lion," the Maulana asked.
Referring to the repeated stance of PTI regarding not taking it into confidence on the CPEC, the Maulana said if somebody was expending all its energies towards killing mice and in a state of sleep then how he could be able to protect a province's interests. Referring to the mistreatment of women at a PTI rally in Lahore, he said it was highly regrettable. Fazl said his party would not allow anyone to play with our religion, values and respect of women.
