Chairman, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Tuesday said strict action would be taken against closure of educational institution in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's visit. "I have asked to take strict action against those who shut down University in Mansehra for two days and schools in Bannu when the PM went there," he said while inaugurating Youth Games 2016 in Peshawar.
He also tweeted:"Closing educational institutions when VIPs visit an area is a retrogressive practice. I have asked KP government to immediately put a stop to it." According to reports, all educational institutions remained closed in Bannu district due to the visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to inaugurate different development projects in the area.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited to Bannu where he inaugurated different development projects. He laid the foundation stone of gas supply project to five union councils of Bannu which will cost 259 million rupees. The project will be completed in one year's time. The three-day under-23 games started at Qayyum Sports Complex Peshawar. Around 1,008 male and 670 female sportsmen are taking part in the event. A total of 15 male and 13 female contests would take place.
PTI chairman reiterated the provincial government would build grounds at every tehsil in KP, while the existing grounds in educational institutions will be refurbished. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Sports, Mehmood Khan, Provincial Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education, Muhammad Atif Khan, PTI provincial legislators, Shah Farman, KP Chief Secretary Amjad Khan, Additional Chief Secretary, Azam Khan, Additional Secretary Sports, Toursism, Tariq Khan, and other high officials were present during the inaugural ceremony. PTI chief said that win and loss was part of every game, saying that sportsmen should play with passion, and fight till last breath to defeat the opponents.
