This is apropos 'Protesters storm parliament in Iraq's Green Zone' carried by Business Recorder on Sunday. According to it, thousands of angry protesters broke into Baghdad's heavily fortified Green Zone on Saturday and stormed the Iraqi parliament building after lawmakers again failed to approve new ministers. "Jubilant supporters of Shia cleric Maqtada al-Sadr invaded the main session hall, shouting slogans glorifying their leader and claiming that they had rooted out corruption," according to the report.
The report was accompanied by a Baghdad-datelined photograph, showing the protesters inside the parliament. The situation in Iraq presents, among other things, the existence of absolute misgovernance which has acquired a new dimension in post-Nuri al-Maliki Iraq. It was Maliki's government that created a menacing spectre of corruption and mis-rule. His rule or mis-rule contributed to the creation of Daesh. Iraqis have suffered immensely under the rule of Saddam Husain and after his removal.
