All 700 Provincial Management Service (PMS) officers continued their strike throughout Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA) for second consecutive day. The protesting PMS Officers, worn black bands around their arms and observed symbolic pen-down from 10:00 am to 12:pm. The Chief Secretary held a meeting with delegation of the PCS Officers Association.
A delegation under the chairmanship of Khalid Khan Umerzai and Sajid Jadoon met the Chief Secretary wherein he was apprised that the association is on strike on account of administrative and legislative issues. The former pertains to his office whereas the later rests with the Provincial Assembly. A draft of various administrative issues was presented to the Chief Secretary, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and he committed to resolve the same within two weeks (copy enclosed).
The Chief Secretary requested the PMS Officers to call-off the strike, but the same was regretted as the purpose of agitation has yet not been achieved ie resolution of both the administrative and legislative issues. It is pertinent to mention that provincial assembly has yet not approached this association. Reportedly, the same has been casually discussed in the assembly but the chair of technical committee tried to circumvent the issue again on frivolous account of it being sub-judice which is totally false and has already been explained to the Speaker in a letter a week ago.
