The Vice Chancellor Mehran University of Engineering and Technology Jamshoro Professor Dr Muhammad Aslam Uqaili has emphasised the need of bringing all departments of the university under Outcome Based Education and Accreditation System (OBE). The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) is now part of the Washington Agreement therefore implementation of OBE is the need of the hours so that the university could come up to the expectations, he said.
The VC expressed these remarks while addressing the participants of the daylong workshop on OBE, organised by the Office of Research Innovation and Commercialisation of Mehran University Jamshoro on Thursday. He said that new developments and changes are being witnessed in the educational system and the university should prepare its self to meet out these challenges of the modern world. There is no importance of imparting such knowledge which is not beneficial for the nation, he said and added that the university management has decided to achieve these milestones. Among others, Dean Faculty of Electrical Electronics and Computer Engineering System Professor Bhawani Shankar Choudhry, Dr Inamullah Bhatti, Dr Mazhar Pirzada and Dr Owais Khatri also addressed the participants of the workshop and shared information about OBE.
