National Vocational and Technical Training Commission organised a National Skill Show in which hundreds of trainees participated and exhibited their skills in various trades. This initiative not only boosted the morale of the trainees but also created awareness amongst them about the importance of vocational training. Youth, even from the farthest of areas of KPK and FATA participated in these competitions.
It is worth mentioning that earlier, number of applications received against the allocated seats were very low. However, this time the number of applications is almost four times more than before. Governor KPK, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, Ambassador of Netherlands Jeanette Seppen, Ambassador of Germany Ina Lepal and Ambassador of European Union Jean Francois Cawtain distributed prizes to the winners of the competition.
On this occasion, tool kits, certificates and cash prizes of Rs 50,000, Rs 35,000 and Rs 20,000 were distributed amongst the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holders of each trade respectively. It is noteworthy that women from the far flung areas of KPK also took part in these competitions with enthusiasm and exhibited their skills in various trades.-PR
