The Lahore High Court Bar Association says it wants the accountability of the prime minister and his family following recent revelations in the Panama papers leaks. Nawaz Sharif himself calls the leaks the work of people "targeting me and my family for their political aims". In an address to the nation on April 5, he did say those "who use ill-gotten wealth don't keep assets in their own names".
The bar also says it is setting up a committee to probe corruption claims surrounding the son of the chief justice of Pakistan in Karachi and passed a string of resolutions unanimously presented by Allah Bakhsh Gondal and some others. Bar President Rana Zia Abdul Rehman, Secretary Anas Ghazi, former presidents Abid Saqi and Ahmad Awais, Supreme Court Bar Association Secretary Asad Manzoor Butt, Asma Jahangir and Azam Nazir Tarar have mainly targeted the leaks also exposing an offshore company owned by Justice Farrukh Irfan Khan of the Lahore High Court and urged the Supreme Judicial Council to act against the judge. They have also revealed their concerns over the alleged "rude behavior" by Lahore High Court judges especially with young lawyers.
