Mehboob brothers on Friday qualified for the final of the 4th FMC International Men's Squash Championship 2016 after overpowering their respective opponents in the semi-finals played here at the Punjab Squash Complex. Experienced Farhan Mehboob utilized all his skills to down spirited Israr Ahmed, who earlier stunned top seed Farhan Zaman in the quarterfinal, in a 31-minute highly-enthralling first semi final of the day by 11/5, 12/10, 11/3. Israr had no answers to powerful and technical shots of Farhan who displayed quality squash and amused the spectators with his outstanding game.
In the second semi final of the day, Waqar Mehboob took 23 minutes to outpace Amaad Fareed by 11/7, 11/9, 11/5 in 23 minutes. Both the players started the match well and were tied at 7-7 when high-flying Waqar showed his class and overwhelm Amaad by 11/7 in the first game. The second game was tougher than the first as both fought for each and every point and leveled the score at 9/9. Waqar once again dominated at this crucial time and took the game 11/9. In the third game, Waqar didn't allow his opponent play freely and won it 11/5 with utmost ease and set the final date with his elder brother Farhan Mehboob.
