Provincial Secretary Environment Protection Department Iqbal Mohammad Chauhan has assured the value added sector of full cooperation to settle the issue of compliance on environment laws and standards. He held a meeting with members of Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PHMA) and Pakistan Knitwear and Sweaters Exporters Association (PAKSEA) on Wednesday.
He advised the industry to come up with work plans to install effluent treatment plants in order to meet national environment laws and international standards so that our exports do not suffer in the time to come. He stressed them not to lose time in doing so as the pressures are now increasing from international sides. Earlier, the Vice Chairman PHMA Abdul Hameed and Chairman PAKSEA Shahzad Azam Khan briefed the Secretary Environment on issues of industry.
