Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid-e-Azam President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has phoned Ali Haider Gilani, the son of former premier Yousaf Raza Gilani, to wish him well after his return home from three-year captivity. Ali Haider Gilani was rescued in a joint Afghan-American Special Forces' operation on Tuesday. He was abducted three years ago while campaigning for elections, reportedly by al Qaeda-linked militants. He thanked the Afghan security forces for "their sacrifice for someone from another country". The Muslim League-Qauid-e-Azam leader also congratulated the former premier, senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples' Party (PPP) Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and his family.
