The political administration of Bajaur Agency has refused to grant permission to Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) for a rally against corruption and "draconian" Frontier Crimes Regulations (FCR) in the Sports Complex of the agency headquarters on Saturday. This decision was made at a high-level meeting of the political administration. According to an insider, almost all officials opposed the permission for the JI's rally at the Bajaur Sports Complex, as the venue was only for sports activities and not for the political activities.
The participants of the meeting were of the view that the administration couldn't do so because it would set a wrong precedent and other political parties would also ask for holding their activities in the same venue in future. The officials offered the JI to select any other venue instead of Bajaur Sports Complex for its rally.
