FAISALABAD: The first phase of the elections of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) 2018-19 has been completed, said Muzzamil Sultan, Member Election Commission.

Announcing the provisional results of 15 vacant seats of executive committee, including seven for Corporate, seven for Associate Class and one reserve seat for the women, he said that the election schedule was announced and the relevant clauses related to the conduct of election of FCCI under Trade Organization Act 2013 were strictly followed.

He said that initially 21 nomination papers received for the vacant seats.

Haji Muhammad Ramzan, Member FCCI Election Commission, said that there were eight candidates in the run for the Corporate Class. Out of these, Mian Adrees has withdrawn his nomination paper leaving seven candidates for seven seats. Hence, the remaining seven candidates have been provisionally declared elected uncontested.

Among these include Syed Zia Alamdar Hussain of M/s. Fashion & Trends (Pvt) Ltd, Ch Habib Ahmad Gujjar of M/s Zam Zam Textile Industries (Pvt) Ltd, Saqib Majeed of M/s Majeed Fabrics (Pvt) Ltd, Humayun Qaiser of M/s HA Haq Spinning Mills (Pvt) Ltd, Kh Ahsan Shahid Sikka of M/s Karss Paint Industries, Asim Munir of M/s ZA Industry and Zafar Iqbal Sarwar of M/s ZIS Textile (Pvt) Ltd.

Chuddary Muhammad Nawaz, Member Election Commission gave the details of Associate Class's election. He told that total 12 nomination papers received for this Class. One nomination paper was rejected and out of remaining 11 while four candidates have withdrawn their papers. Thus the following seven candidates have also been declared successful uncontested.

Among these include Mian Muhammad Saleem of M/s Saleem Hosiery, Habib ur Rehman Gill of M/s Gill Traders, Muhammad Ikramullah of M/s Lyallpur Cotton Mills Depot, Muhammad Idrees of M/s Idrees Fabrics, Bilal Waheed of M/s Waheed Agencies, Muhammad Saeed of M/s Saeed Traders and Mr. Muhammad Saeed Iqbal of M/s Zaec Associates.

He further told that there was only one candidate for one reserve seat for Women. Mrs Robeena Amjad of M/s Lilly Fabrics has already been declared successful against this seat.

He further told that now as per Election Schedule the polling for the election of Executive Committee will not be held on September 14, 15 and 17.

He said that now the 2nd and final phase of election has been started to elect the office bearers, including president, senior vice president and vice president. Nomination papers for these offices will be received on September 18.

Muzzamil Sultan said that the official announcement of the successful candidates will be made on Saturday, September 19, during the annual general body meeting of the FCCI.
