Pakistan and China enjoy a unique, close and durable relationship. China is a true, time-tested and all-weather friend of Pakistan. This year we are celebrating the 65th anniversary of establishment of our diplomatic relations with China. Over these 65 years, our relationship has grown from strength to strength. Relations between Pakistan and China are marked by a high degree of understanding, trust and goodwill. At the official and popular levels, there is strong resonance of the long and rich history of close and cordial ties.
We have endeavourer to strengthen and deepen our all-weather strategic cooperative partnership with China. Our two governments have designated the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as the flagship project for economic rejuvenation, a peaceful neighborhood and for building a "Community of Common Destiny'.
Irrespective of political orientation, every government in Pakistan has reinforced Pakistan's relations with China, manifesting the special place China has in the hearts and minds of the Pakistani people. Regular bilateral visits by the leadership of both countries have been a hallmark of our ties. I fondly recall my several visits to China, where I was always accorded a warm, friendly and homely atmosphere. I am confident that our mutual efforts will bring peace, development and progress to not only the two countries but the entire region. We will work together to shape a better, prosperous future for our generations to come.
