CBFC bans Abhishek Bachchan’s ‘Manmarziyan’ in Pakistan
Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan’s latest release ‘Manmarziyan’ has been banned in Pakistan for violation of censorship code.
Abhishek, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal-starrer released in India on September 14. According to local media reports, Censor Board of Films Certification Chief Danyal Gilani said that the members of the board have unanimously decided to not clear the film as its content violates the censorship code.
The movie has been receiving good response from the audience in India and has been touted as Abhishek’s comeback film. He is back on big screen with a powerful performance after 2.5 years. Abhishek revealed earlier that taking a break from acting was a planned and a calculated move.
This ban on ‘Manmarziyan’ follows earlier bans on Bollywood films this year, including horror film ‘Pari’, female comedy ‘Veere Di Wedding’ and Muslim drama film ‘Mulk’.
Directed by Anurag Kashyap, the movie revolves around Rumi (Taapsee Pannu) and Vicky (Vicky Kaushal) who love each other. But Vicky is commitment-phobic. Rumi waits for him to marry her but later she takes her own decision to marry Robbie (Abhishek Bachchan).
