Angoor Adda checkpost located at Pak-Afghan border in South Waziristan Agency (SWA) was handed over to Afghan authorities on Saturday with the intention to improve the border management and strengthening the bilateral relations Director General (DG) Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) Asim Saleem Bajwa said the decision of handing over Angoor Adda checkpost to Afghan authorities was part of the strategy to bring betterment in border management and mending brotherly relations between the two neighbouring countries.
DG ISPR expressed hope that the decision will help restore peace and stability at Pak-Afghan border and also assist in co-ordinated efforts for stability and peace on the two sides of the border. He said, "The gesture will act as a catalyst and is envisioned to bring momentum for establishing peace and stability along the Pak-Afghan border." Asim Saleem Bajwa said it was reiterated during the process, that all border related issues will be amicably resolved through mutual consultations subsequently.
