Secretary General, Jamaat e Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has said that if the democratic forces did not hold their own accountability, some other institution would do that. He was addressing a press conference at the Lahore Press Club at which he announced the schedule of the JI Train March in connection with its Corruption Free Pakistan movement.
Liaqat Baloch said that the parliament and the masses would have to be on the same page to ensure a thorough accountability. He said that a change could not be possible by sitting at home and added that if the people wanted a revolution, they would have to come on roads.
He said that corruption had been getting roots in the country because the corrupt forces had been protecting one another. He said that the government and the opposition would have to agree at the ToRs in order to carry ahead the process of accountability. If they failed in this, the masses may lose patience and the result could be disastrous.
According to the schedule, the Train March would begin from Peshawar on May 25 with a public meeting to be addressed by the JI chief Senator Sirajul Haq.
The train march would board the Awami Express and reach Lahore the same evening. The JI chief would address rallies at different railway stations on the way including Nowshera, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Gujrat and Gujranwala.
On May 26, the Train March would resume by Khyber Mail from Lahore and travel to Rohri. The JI chief would address the rallies at major stations on the route.
On May 27, the Train March would move from Rohri by the Awami Express and reach Karachi in the evening. The Train March would end with a public meeting at Karachi.
Two bodies of these trains have already been booked for Train March. JI central and provincial leadership and at district levels would join the train march.
Meanwhile, a meeting in the JI Media Cell, on Sunday chaired by JI Information Secretary Ameerul Azim, reviewed the preparations for the Train March and expressed full satisfaction in this respect. The JI has released a video spread over one minute on the Train March on Social Media.
Thousands of JI workers would see off the Train March at Peshawar while nearly three hundred party workers would travel in the Train March from Peshawar to Karachi. Nazir Ahmed Janjua has been appointed central Co-ordinator of the Train march.
