Provincial Wildlife & Parks Department has provided short duration training to 123 officers and officials of Pakistan Air Force, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan and Wildlife & Parks Department at Lahore Zoo and Wildlife Training School Faisalabad. A comprehensive planning is being made for modernising of Wildlife Training School Faisalabad and Lahore Zoo and provides training on the pattern of developed countries.
This was stated by Director General Wildlife & Parks Punjab Khalid Ayaz Khan while presiding over a high level meeting at his office. He said that 11 officers and officials of KPK and 26 of Wildlife Department were provided training to catch wild animals and birds and shifting them from one place to another, two officials of Pakistan Air Force regarding treatment and unconsciousness of wild animals, ten officials of Wildlife Department and 20 internees of Zoology were provided training to make wild animals insensible, four employees of Wildlife Breeding Farm Jallo Park and Lahore Safari Zoo Park to control elephant and snake, two lady officers of KPK of Wildlife Management, two wildlife inspectors of Gilgit Baltistan for handling leopard and other four legged animals while 36 officers and officials of Wildlife Department were given training in different sectors of zoo management. He said that all these courses were of one week to one month duration.
Khalid Ayaz Khan said that a comprehensive planning is being made for setting Wildlife Training School Faisalabad on modern lines and holding of training courses on permanent basis, here. He said that practical training of these courses will be given in Lahore Zoo and Lahore Safari Zoo Park.
He said that Wildlife Department has provided training to its own employees of other provinces and departments so far but now planning is being made for providing training regarding handling of animals and zoo management to private people which will soon be implemented.
