Colourful Peace Cricket Mela concluded at village Kari Dabak, FR Tank with 30 different teams from the villages hailing from Dera Ismail khan, Tank and FR Tank took part in a month long event witnessed by hundreds and thousands spectators. There were matches of six-over-each with teams comprising FR Tank, Tank, and Dera Ismail Khan including Jandola, Kari Wam, Komal, Buzi and Soobati. The final of the tournament played between Munir club Kari Wam and Buzi Tank.
Batting first Munir Club Kari Wam scored 97 runs in the allotted six overs while in reply Buzi club of Tank bundled out for just 30 runs, thanks to promising bowler Munir Betani who grabbed four wickets in his two overs spell, two on the consecutive balls in the second over.
In his address the organiser Adam Khan said that the aim and objective of the event is to give a message of peace to the rest of the world. He said the people of Tank, FR Tank and other villages like Jandola, Kari Wam, Gomal, Subati and Kach were peaceful. The areas is full of talented youth but due to militancy and insurgency these talented youth were confined to their homes and some of them even went to the wrong hands.
He said now with the grace of Almighty Allah and great sacrifices being rendered by the jawans of the security forces, peace has been restored to all these areas which can clearly identified from the holding of such a big cricketing Mela (festival).
At the end, the winner team was awarded a motorcycle and the runners-up got Rs 5000 as cash prizes.
