Legendary comedian and actor Rangeela was remembered as his 11th death anniversary was marked on Tuesday. Born in 1937 in Afghanistan, Rangeela began his professional career in 1957 with an Urdu film "Daata". He also showed his talent as a musician, singer, lyricist, writer and distributor. Rangeela died in 2005 at the age of 68 in Lahore. His film career started in 1957 when he appeared as a comedian in Jatti. The super hit film "Diya Aur Toofan" on May 9‚ 1969 was Rangeela's directional debut. He was also the producer-singer-writer-actor.
Rangeela had been a dominant force in the Pakistani cinema for over forty years and won many awards. He won the award for the best screenplay writers for "Naukar Tay Malik", "Sona Chaandi", "Miss Colombo", "Baaghi Qaidi" and "Teen Yakke Teen Chay".
