Seminar on energy standards held

A seminar on energy standards and labelling regime was successfully organised by the National Energy Conservation Centre, an attached department of the Ministry of Water and Power in which officials from various departments, donor agencies and manufactures of different appliances participated. Hassan Nasir Jamy, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Water and Power highlighted various initiatives being taken by ENERCON to promote energy efficiency and discussed the role of provinces to sport ENERCON's initiatives.
Later, Mooto Taki, senior JICA representative appreciated the launching of energy labelling scheme and highlighted different areas where Japan is assisting and supporting Pakistan. A brief presentation was given by Dr Hagihara, JICA energy efficiency expert on Japanese success stories pertaining to energy labelling scheme in Japan. Asad Mahmood Director Technical ECF/ENERCON, an eminent energy efficiency expert gave an overview on existing energy standards and labelling regime and discussed the way forward for other energy consuming appliances.-PR
