Secretary Foreign Affairs Aizaz Chaudhry on Thursday met ambassadors of friendly countries and briefed them on situation in the wake of recent US drone attack in which Taliban Chief Mullah Mansour was killed. Sources said the Foreign Secretary in separate meetings with ambassadors of Saudi Arabia, China, and Turkey briefed them about the negative impacts of the incident on the Afghan peace process.
They said the Foreign Secretary stated that the drone attack was a violation of Pakistan's sovereignty as well as breach of the principles of the United Nations Charter governing the conduct of the states. The envoys were also told that Pakistan has conveyed its serious concern to the US on the recent action. They were also told that Pakistan believes peace and stability in Afghanistan was only possible through Afghan led and Afghan owned reconciliation process.
