Supreme Court on Friday declined to entertain a petition seeking a restriction on television talk shows and print media stories on the Panama leaks till a final action of the relevant forum in the matter. Zulfiqar Ahmed Bhutta, a lawyer, filed a petition under Article 184 (3) of the Constitution, making secretaries of the Cabinet Division and Ministry of Foreign Affairs as respondents.
The Supreme Court returned all the paper books to the lawyer observing, "That in view of the judgement reported as PLC 1975 SC 66, neither the petitioner has sought enforcement of any of the fundamental rights guaranteed under the Constitution within the purview of Article 184 (3) of the Constitution involving a question of public importance nor has he approached any High Court or any other appropriate forum available to him under the law for the same relief".
