A Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf leader in the Punjab, whose party has launched an unabated volley of attack on the government since the post-Panama papers revelations, has claimed that only "one percent of corruption committed by politicians has been revealed while 99 percent is yet to be revealed". The claims by Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, also a former Punjab governor, came on Saturday as he spoke with the media after meeting Ali Haider Gilani, the son of the former Prime Minister, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, and addressing a prize distribution ceremony on the Allama Iqbal Road.
He said, "Politicians who don't bring their money to Pakistan must be declared illegible for contesting elections with 10 years of imprisonment. This is the time for Pakistan to start accountability of the corrupt which has been triggered by the Panama leaks and someone has to do their accountability. There is no future for those who looted the country. Other party leaders with him were Rai Hassan Nawaz, Farhat Abbas and Hammad Azhar. "The eradication of corruption is essential for the bright future of the country," he added.
