The IT University Lahore's vice chancellor has been invited by the White House to participate in the 2016 Global Entrepreneurship Summit to be held at the Stanford University, the Silicon Valley in California. Vice Chancellor Doctor Umar Saif is also the Chairman of the Punjab Information Technology Board. A board spokesman on Saturday said Pakistan got the representation for the first time in the summit which would also be addressed among others by United States President Barak Obama.
A White House invitation letter describes the criteria, for selecting Pakistan among a few countries across the globe, for those with a track record of promoting entrepreneurship, concrete plan for future support of the country's entrepreneurial ecosystem, and ability to announce a new government initiative, programme or regulation.
